What is an EPC?
An Energy Performance Certificate is a legally valid document which provides an energy efficiency rating for your home. The ratings run from A-G and will outline the current and potential energy rating of your home.
Why do I need one?
A valid EPC is required when selling or renting a property in the U.K. New rules (MEES) were introduced in 2020 that a property could not be let with a rating of at least an E or above. An EPC is required even if the property is currently let and the rating rules apply in the same way. EPC’s are valid for 10 years once produced.
How do I improve my rating?
An EPC provides recommendations on how to improve your rating and your assessor can also provide you with further guidance and advice if required.
By improving your rating, you may find that you have lower energy bills and a smaller carbon footprint!
How long does an EPC survey take?
This does depend on a few things however an average sized property can generally take between 20 to 40 minutes to survey.
How much does an EPC cost and why choose GES?
