Our goal is to keep residents warmer for longer and give them more choice over when they use their storage heating. In providing more control, we can reduce their energy bills. Upgrading of the heating system requires no capital from the council, housing association or tenants.
There are over 1.5 million households in the UK with electric storage heating systems, mostly failing to provide the type of heating that residents reasonably expect in the 21st century. We want to help as many of the people living in these homes as possible. These upgrades are free. They benefit residents and landlords but also the wider community, through reducing carbon emissions and promoting the use of renewable energy.
Advantages in taking part in this scheme are
- Keep warm, for longer
- Control, room by room, over their heating
- Reduced consumption, and lower bills
- No more expensive supplementary heating
- Happier tenants
- No capital outland for an upgraded heating systems
- Helping to address fuel poverty agenda
- Helping to secure rental income
We are looking for electrically heated properties, ideally blocks or groups of flats, if you are interested in finding out more please contact Maxine Palmer, GES General Manager on firstname.lastname@example.org
