We know during the ongoing energy crisis, it can be hard to pay your bills. That’s why we are letting you know that on 26th August 2022 Ofgem announced the energy price cap will increase to £3,549 per year for dual fuel for an average household from 1 October 2022, an 80% increase.

LEAP (Local Energy Advice Partnership) is here to help during the energy crisis

During the ongoing energy crisis, LEAP home energy visits offer free support to help you keep warm, and save money.

LEAP helps to support as many people as possible who are at risk of going into fuel poverty. The service is open to all types of householders – homeowners, private renters and social housing tenants.

Big measures to help you during the energy crisis

Improving your home is a big way to cut down on your energy bills. LEAP can check if you are eligible and help you apply for government-funded measures such as Air Source Heat Pumps, Solar Panels and Insulation.

Easy measures

We provide free LED bulbs, draught-proofing, energy-saving plugs and more – we can install these for you for free and these quick changes will save you money over time.

Advice

Our Home Energy Advisors are fully trained to spot any areas you can save money – from using your heating system more efficiently and spotting errors on your energy bills to referring you for a free Income Maximisation call for full debt advice. We can also put you in touch with other organisations in the area. The LEAP Energy Advice Service starts with a relaxed and informal energy advice call.

How can I apply for free LED lightbulbs please? On carers allowance as I’m a full time carer for my son who has severe and complex mental health conditions as well as learning disabilities. I also get universal credit. Just struggling with my energy bills as well as cost of living for both of us, and am trying to find any way to get some light bulbs please.
    Thanks in advance
