What is LEAP?
LEAP is a free service which provides support if you are looking to enhance your energy efficiency and reduce costs.
There are many ways LEAP can help alleviate financial stress. Today we want to shine a spotlight on their appliance scheme.
The LEAP Appliance Scheme
The LEAP Appliance Scheme is a replacement scheme. The objective is to swap out old, inefficient white goods with modern, energy-saving alternatives.
Here’s how it operates: if you possess an appliance that’s over eight years old, LEAP can exchange it for a newer, more energy-efficient model. They handle the removal and disposal of your outdated appliance and take care of installing the new one. The discarded appliance is disposed of in an energy-efficient manner.
These new appliances are significantly more energy efficient, which means you’ll save money on your energy bills as they consume less power to operate.
What Appliances Are Available?
Refrigerators, freezers, washing machines, dehumidifiers, electric cookers, and air fryers.
LEAP don’t service gas appliances.

Who Is Eligible?
The eligibility criteria is fairly similar to those for the LEAP Scheme.
So, if you are on a means-tested benefit, or if your total household income is less than £31,000.
How to Access the LEAP Appliance Scheme?
To access the appliance scheme, you first need to have a home energy visit from one of our highly skilled LEAP advisors.
Apply for a free home energy visit here.
Once you have a house visit, the LEAP advisor will be able to inspect your appliances and determine whether or not LEAP can assist and support you in replacing them.
