GES Team Values Launch Day
At Green Energy Switch, our values have always been at the heart of everything we do. For many years, the team proudly worked by four core principles: being passionate about service, committed to sustainability, crazy about carbon, and working for charity.
These values served us well, but as our organisation has grown, so have we. Back in 2021, Green Energy Switch was less than half the size we are today. Fast forward to today and we are a thriving team of 19 people, all working together to deliver a wide range of green energy solutions. From void energy management and EPCs, to free home energy visits through LEAP, as well as business energy switching and fully funded EV charger installations for businesses, our team are all passionate about helping organisations and households save time, money, and effort.
Introducing Our Five New Team Values
So during our bi-yearly business planning session in October, we decided it was time for something new. Together as a team, we reflected on what truly represents who we are today and what will guide us as we continue to grow. After a full team vote, we proudly introduced five brand new values:
A Values Launch Worth Celebrating
With our new financial year approaching, we knew we wanted to launch these values properly – and go BIG! Not just an email announcement or a slide in a meeting, but something memorable that brought the whole team together. So on Wednesday the 4th of March, the entire GES team gathered at the office for our official Values Launch Day, and what a day it turned out to be!
The office was transformed with bunting, a brand new values banner, and fresh flowers to set the scene. To kick things off, each team member arrived prepared to share an example of how the team had demonstrated one of the new values, along with how they personally live that value in their role.
It was a brilliant way to reflect on the impact we already make together.

Putting Our Values into Action
Next came the competitive part of the day. Our Key Account Manager Mike organised a values based treasure hunt. This had the team exploring the grounds of Ham Lane House and searching every nook and cranny of the office. The clues were linked to our new values, and with a team as competitive as ours, things got very lively very quickly! Safe to say there was plenty of running around, laughter, and a lot of determination to win.
The fun didn’t stop there. We also held a photo competition, giving everyone the rest of the day to capture an image that best represented ‘Excellence’. The submissions were fantastic and incredibly creative. From team selfies to everyday objects and even food, the ideas were as varied as they were imaginative.
And of course, no GES team celebration would be complete without good food. For lunch, our Director Sarah arranged a pizza van to come to the office and cook fresh pizzas for the whole team. The smell alone had everyone excited, and the pizzas absolutely lived up to the hype. With plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

Living Our Values Every Day at GES
It was a brilliant day filled with energy, creativity, and a lot of laughter. Most importantly, it reminded us why our values matter. They shape how we work, how we support each other, and how we deliver the best possible service to the communities and organisations we partner with.
As Green Energy Switch continues to grow, these five values will guide everything we do. From supporting households to helping businesses manage energy more sustainably, our values ensure we stay focused on what truly matters.
And if our launch day was anything to go by, the future at GES is looking pretty exciting!!!
