Celebrating Sustainability at the iiE Awards 2024

We had an amazing time at the iiE Awards 2024, where we were proud to serve as one of the category sponsors of this incredible event. Hosted at the stunning Allia Future Business Centre in Peterborough, the venue, with its spectacular views of the Peterborough United football stadium, was the perfect backdrop to celebrate the organisations leading the charge in sustainability.

Sponsoring the iiE Awards was particularly important to us as a profit-for-purpose company. At Green Energy Switch, we are passionate about supporting businesses in their sustainability journey. Recently, we launched a fully funded EV charger installation service for businesses, which allows them to make the transition to electric vehicles without the upfront costs. Alongside that, we specialise in green business energy switching, helping companies of all sizes find the best energy deals, so they can reduce their costs and environmental impact. As a small company doing big things, it was a fantastic opportunity to meet and network face-to-face with other businesses that share our values. We are committed to helping companies, both big and small, reach their sustainability goals, and participating in this event provided the perfect opportunity to connect and learn from others.

Sponsoring the Overall Outstanding Achiever (Large) Category was particularly meaningful to us. We felt the category reflected our core values of sustainability, innovation, and making a positive impact. Becca had the privilege of presenting this award on behalf of Green Energy Switch. Well done to the winners; ‘Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust’.

A Day Of Networking, Inspiration, and Collaboration

The day ranged from networking opportunities to workshops, all aimed at sparking new ideas and fostering collaborations. Before the awards began, Mark Shayler delivered an inspiring keynote speech. Mark is renowned for challenging businesses to think bigger when it comes to sustainability. The workshops were led by leading organisations like RECOUP, Energy Saving Trust, Ecotricity, and The Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire to name a few. There was no shortage of ideas and practical advice on making environmental change. It was a mix of education, inspiration, and collaboration.

Investors in the Environment (iiE)

For those who may not be familiar with Investors in the Environment (iiE), it is a not-for-profit sustainability accreditation scheme that helps organisations reduce their environmental impact, protect biodiversity, and set ambitious net-zero targets. As a self-funding green business programme of its parent organisation PECT (Peterborough Environment City Trust), iiE plays a vital role in driving positive environmental change across businesses of all sizes.

At Green Energy Switch, we are proud to support iiE. And proud to continue supporting PECT, to whom we donate all of our profits. By doing so, we are helping them continue their crucial work towards a greener, more sustainable future for all.

Congratulations to all the nominees and winners! And a big thank you to iiE for letting us be part of such a motivating and inspiring event!
