LEAP at Green Energy Switch: More Than Just a Service

According to National Energy Action, as of April 2025, fuel poverty is affecting 6.1 million households in the UK. This is based on the definition of low income households spending more than 10% of their income on their energy bills.

Green Energy Switch’s Role in Combating Fuel Poverty

Over the past year, our dedicated Home Energy Advisors at Green Energy Switch have had the privilege of helping so many residents, offering free energy-saving advice, energy products, and home visits.

Thanks to their hard work and commitment, we’ve seen amazing results:

  • £843,757.12 saved on energy bills
  • Over 1,500 energy products installed
  • 236.3 tonnes of carbon emissions reduced

A Free Service Making a Real Difference

All of this has been made possible through the LEAP scheme. This wonderful free service helps people to stay warm and cut their energy bills, all without spending a penny. We’re incredibly passionate about supporting our community and making a positive difference, and we’re so proud of what we’ve accomplished together. We are proud to deliver the LEAP scheme in partnership with Peterborough City Council, South Cambridgeshire Council, Rutland County Council, and Fenland District Council. LEAP is open to all types of householders – homeowners, private renters and social housing tenants where multiple residents may be experiencing fuel poverty.

ABOUT US

Green Energy Switch (GES) delivers a broad range of energy services across the UK. We specialise in working with social landlords and local authorities. Established in 2006, GES is a subsidiary of environmental charity PECT. We gift-aid any profits to PECT to help fund their vital work. In doing so, we are the lead sponsor of their Forest project. Over 131,000 trees have been planted so far, equating to a remarkable reduction of over 1,300 tonnes of carbon emission.
