A Day in the Life of Amanda: Supporting the Team and Welcoming New RSLs
Discover how Amanda plays a key role in our void energy management service, supporting the team and onboarding new housing providers with care and efficiency.
What does a typical day look like for you?
I start at 9am, usually after a nice walk to set me up for the day. Then it’s straight into checking in with the team to see where I’m needed.
My day usually includes reviewing the appointment report, handling any escalations, and supporting during ‘Power Hour’.
Can you briefly explain what your role involves?
Being there for the team for support and questions and being on hand for Kelly to help with any issues. I’m also responsible for completing the appointment report, taking part in Power Hour, checking escalations and following/chasing anything up. As well as this, I meet new RSLs when they enquire about our void energy management service and manage their onboarding journey. Sometimes I also manage the Smart into Voids project, monitor supplier emails, and cover the daily sheets where needed.
How does your role help RSLs and what makes us so unique?
Tracking the journey of a meter appointment, managing RSL expectations, understanding their needs/frustrations, providing good communication.
What’s the most rewarding part of your role?
Seeing team members expand and sharing knowledge/experiences. Keeping things tidy/organised. Getting a challenging issue resolved for an RSL and seeing it from start to finish.
How does your role support the wider mission of Green Energy Switch?
Making a good impression with new RSLs and getting the GES brand out there.
What three words would you use to describe your work?
Fulfilling, supportive, fast-paced.
What’s always on your desk (or in your work bag)?
A notebook.
Do you have a go-to playlist, snack, or habit that keeps you focused?
Water/tea & possibly Chocolate!
What do you like to do in your downtime or lunch breaks?
Walking and listening to audiobooks.
How do you unwind after a busy day?
Gym, walking, jigsaw puzzles, cooking! And watching my daughter play football.
What’s something people might be surprised to learn about your job?
Meter & energy knowledge. How much we can actually do for people in social housing!

ABOUT US
Green Energy Switch (GES) delivers a broad range of energy services across the UK. We specialise in working with social landlords and local authorities. Established in 2006, GES is a subsidiary of environmental charity PECT. We gift-aid any profits to PECT to help fund their vital work. In doing so, we are the lead sponsor of their Forest project. They have planted over 131,000 trees so far. Which equates to a remarkable reduction of over 1,300 tonnes of carbon emission.
