A Day in the Life of Ann-Marie: From Morning Walks to RSL Support
Step into Ann-Marie’s day as she balances morning walks with expert support for RSLs through void energy management service.
What does a typical day look like for you?
As I start work at 9am, I’m up early getting the family out the door, then I have a nice long walk to stretch my legs and get some fresh air before a busy day in the office. Once I’m in, it’s straight onto meter appointments, helping with any issues our RSLs have and escalating urgent jobs. I’m often on the phone to some of our RSLs or suppliers chasing something.
Can you briefly explain what your role involves?
I mainly look after meter appointments, which involves raising them, dealing with any supplier issues, and escalating any urgent ones. I also support on the phones, handle general enquiries, and help with any issues our RSLs have.
How does your role help RSLs and what makes us so unique?
We help make their jobs a little easier. At GES, we’re always at the end of the phone, email, or live chat. We’re a friendly team who go above and beyond to help!
What’s the most rewarding part of your role?
I really do love helping people and when you get something urgent resolved, the RSL’s are always so grateful.
What three words would you use to describe your work?
Supportive, approachable, humour (laughing and smiling gets me through my days I highly recommend 😊)
What’s always on your desk (or in your work bag)?
When I was dealing with other suppliers it was a stress ball haha but I don’t use that so much.
Do you have a go-to playlist, snack, or habit that keeps you focused?
Coffee and music generally. I always have the radio on in the background
What do you like to do in your downtime or lunch breaks?
If I’m at home, I might squeeze in a couple of jobs like sticking on a wash or emptying the dishwasher. YAAAWN….but mostly I try to get out and go for a walk.
How do you unwind after a busy day?
Wine? No unfortunately we can’t do this every day! So you can usually find me going for yet another walk or dancing in my kitchen whilst I get the dinner on for my small & forever hungry humans 😊
